ViaOpta Daily is an app which has been specifically designed to help make life easier for patients with impaired vision.1a It acts as a ‘personal assistant’ to help you identify objects, places and more during your day-to-day activities.1a
The key features on this app help you to recognise text, colours and banknotes.2a,b Just point your smartphone camera at real-world objects to receive descriptions or colour information, or take a photograph of some text and the app will read it out to you!2b
ViaOpta Daily also allows you to send messages2a and gives you access to instant video-call support.
Nav ViaOpta
Nav by ViaOpta is a navigation app designed to help people with low vision get from A to B.3a It was created in partnership with visually impaired users.3a
The app uses voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation to help you reach your destination.3b You can use the app to give you your current position, simply by shaking your phone,3b or use your phone to determine the right direction to take.3b
You can also save your favourite locations and insert waypoints into your route to make it faster and more efficient.3a
ViaOpta Simulator
ViaOpta Simulator is a vision simulator app for phone and tablet, designed to help healthcare professionals educate their patients about a range of eye conditions.4a
Using live video from a tablet camera, the healthcare professional can increase and decrease ‘severity’ by means of a slider control, to help the patient understand the visual impairments caused by certain eye diseases.5a
